About the instrument
AXIOM is a research website and knowledge graph built around a simple discipline: separate what is claimed from what is evidenced, and show the distance between them. It investigates philosophical questions, develops precise theses, constructs the strongest arguments on both sides, and publishes the uncertainty that remains.
It is designed to feel like an academic library, a philosophical observatory, and a research laboratory at once — not a dashboard, and not an oracle.
“The platform should investigate truth, not manufacture certainty.”

Zero fully verified sources is the honest state of the corpus: excerpts are matched to retrieved pages, but relevance and interpretation are AI-assessed.
A structured, inspectable corpus seeded by one question — “Is there a god?” — and expanded by an autonomous worker. Each thesis records structured arguments, retrieved sources, relationship rationales, and the verification that was actually performed.
Not a source of settled philosophical consensus. Not a peer-reviewed journal. Not a generic chatbot with citations bolted on. Every AI-generated assessment is labelled, and inconclusive results are published as inconclusive.
A system that cannot say 'underdetermined' will manufacture confidence. The status vocabulary, the limitations field, and the verification gate exist to make honest uncertainty a first-class result.
Build status
The full system is deliberately staged. A narrow, fully working research pipeline is preferable to a broad collection of nonfunctional features.
The worker is live, but its verification is bounded: it checks that quoted wording appears in the retrieved page. It does not establish that the page supports the claim. That is why fully verified counts remain zero.

Design principles
Architecture
The current build is a TypeScript-first Next.js application with a typed domain model, Zod validation, a relational schema for the production database, and a repository boundary that isolates pages from the D1 data layer.
Interface
Next.js App Router, React, Tailwind, custom SVG graph
Domain
AXIOM should be beautiful enough to invite exploration, rigorous enough to make its reasoning inspectable, and honest enough to say “we do not know” when the evidence does not justify a stronger conclusion.
SEP/Wikipedia retrieval, excerpt matching, claim extraction, and an evidence gate. Independent review is missing.
Hourly Cloudflare Cron, D1 persistence, run locking, activity feed, and stored run records.
Planner adds connected branches and relationships. Contradiction detection and semantic deduplication are limited.
Security headers and run locks are in place. Authenticated controls, quality benchmark, and independent review remain.
Zod schemas, status criteria, graph-integrity validation
Data
Seed repository; PostgreSQL schema and migrations included
Research
Hourly Workers AI research worker with D1 run history
Search
Server-side full-text scoring over the stored corpus
Accessibility
Text alternatives, keyboard paths, reduced motion
